Day 3
The day started at 8:30 AM with and an egg for breakfast. The first stop was Vaux Le Vicomte. This is a beautiful chateau similar in size to the Biltmore Estate, except it is a lot older. The story is that a frenchman built the house and invited Louis IV there and when Louis IV saw how beautiful it was, he arrested the owner and stole all of his artwork, his landscaper, and his architect and then he built Versailles. We took a self guided tour of the stables (where versions of carriages were displayed), the house (with a tower at the top), and we toured the large yard by a golf cart since we were tired. After this, we went in search of a supermarchet to have lunch. There was no supermarchet (everything appeared to be closed on Tuesdays), so we just had an apple from the cooler and went to Provins. Provins is a medieval town with surrounding walls and a tower to fight off warriors. It was built in the 1200s! And, people still live there. I tried rose flavored ice cream. It was pretty good! We haven't downloaded our pictures from today yet, but we will try to do that soon.
